For some reason, after at least 5 years, the shipping component I use to get rates decided it was in demo mode.  Some of you may have seen the message.  Since the product is no longer supported, I had to write something new.

As of now, the UPS rates are up and running.  USPS shouldn’t be far behind.  The good news is this new version seems much quicker.

I’ll post an update when it’s fixed completely.

Everything appears to be working and the new system seems faster.  I’ll watch tomorrow for any errrors.

The US Customs has introduced a proposal to revoke the long-standing ruling that allows assited opening knives to be imported.  Customs now proposes these assisted opening knives be re-defined as illegal “switchblades”.  Under the Switchblade Knife Act, it would then be illegal for you to posses any easy open knife.

This is not someone else’s problem. This is huge. U.S. Customs is serious.  Go to www.akti.org now and get more information. They have created model letters, Knife User Data sheets, and AKTI Talking Points so you can write a clear, rational letter that reflects your concerns as either an individual or business owner.
